Food

Topic: Food Vocabulary

Preparation:

Print the set (boy + food pictures).

Cut out the food cards along the dotted lines.

Keep the big picture of the boy with an open mouth as the “game board.”

How to Play:

Option 1: Teacher Calls the Food

Place all food cards face up on the table.

The teacher calls out a word (e.g., “banana”).

A child finds the correct card and “feeds” the boy by placing it in his mouth.

Everyone says together: “The boy eats a banana!”

Option 2: Student as Caller

One child becomes the “teacher” and calls a food word.

Others race to find and feed the boy the correct card.

Encourage full sentences:
Teacher: “Feed the boy with a carrot. ”Student: “Here’s a carrot!”

Option 3: Memory Match

Mix up the small food cards and place them face down.
Children take turns flipping two cards, naming the foods aloud.
If they find a match with the foods on the big sheet, they can “feed” the boy.
Continue until all foods are matched.

Option 4: Healthy vs. Unhealthy (extension idea)

Add extra cards (junk food, sweets).
Children decide: “The boy eats broccoli!” (healthy) vs. “No! The boy doesn’t eat candy!”
