How to use these ESL flashcards
Vocabulary introduction: Show each card and model “It’s winter,” “It’s summer,” etc. Have students repeat and mime the season. - Calendar/circle time: Ask “What season is it now?” Build a class seasons chart and add photos or drawings.
TPR actions: Shiver for winter, pretend to smell flowers for spring, wipe sweat for summer, shake falling leaves for autumn.
Speaking prompts: - “What do you wear in winter?” “I wear a coat.” - “What do you do in summer?” “I swim at the beach.” - “Which season do you like? Why?”
Grammar focus: - It’s + season (“It’s spring.”) - In + season for habits (“In summer, we go swimming.”) - Comparatives (“Winter is colder than autumn.”) - Prepositions with time (“In April,” “In the spring.”)
